Folkestone is a port town Kent coast. Although the area is home to many tourist attractions like the National Memorial to the Few, Kent Battle of Britain Museum and the Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, it is also a pleasant town to relocate to. With easy access to Euro via the Channel Tunnel the town (often referred to as a small city) is becoming a destination worth considering.
Of course Folkestone has a history for its vital role in World War 2 and was also an important harbour and shipping port for most of the 19th and 20th centuries and this is an attraction for thousands of visitors, especially in early November for Remembrance Week, but Folkestone covers a large land area and many of the smaller surrounding villages are not known to tourists. Sandgate to St Mary’s Bay has some of the most beautiful beaches you’ll find in the south-east.
